What is magnesium? Magnesium alloys are the lightest structural metallic materials, which makes them ideal within the aerospace industry. Magnesium alloys have about ¼ the density of steel which also aids in improving energy efficiency often seen in today’s automobile manufacturing. Along with strength and ductility, Magnesium alloys have excellent corrosion resistance. Magnesium with AZ31, AZ61, AZ80, AZ91, ZK60, HK31, HM21, ZE41, ZC71, ZM21 among others.
Hot-Selling Magnesium alloy: AZ31B AZ31B is a wrought magnesium base alloy with good room-temperature strength and ductility combined with corrosion resistance and weldability. Increased strength is obtained by strain hardening with a subsequent partial anneal. Sheet and plate in AZ31B find application in medium strength service at temperatures below 150°C. Diverse uses including aerospace, aircraft, concrete tools, 3C (cell phone/camera/computer), speaker cones, and textile machinery can all benefit from lightweight AZ31B. AZ31B is non-magnetic and has high electrical and thermal conductivity filling the requirements for RFI and EMI shielding in the electronics and computer industries.
